What inspired you to establish Anna Popovych Jewelry, and how has your journey as a jewelry designer evolved over the years?
Anna Popovych Jewelry began as a natural progression from my early experiences as a jewelry designer. While working for my employer, I noticed that customers often preferred the design suggestions I proposed to realize their ideas. Being a perfectionist and discovering a true passion for jewelry design, I realized that I naturally seek the best version of any design. My imagination feels almost limitless, allowing me to create unique and meaningful pieces effortlessly
Over the years, I developed my own distinctive jewelry style, and it’s been a privilege to collaborate with other brands to create exclusive designs. These opportunities have affirmed that my work is both recognizable and appreciated. However, establishing my own brand has given me the freedom to fully express my vision. It allows me to connect directly with clients, discovering their personal stories and translating them into jewelry that carries deep meaning. For me, it’s not just about crafting beautiful pieces — it’s about creating jewelry with a soul, designed to be cherished for a lifetime.
How do you approach the creative process of designing custom-made jewelry to reflect your clients’ unique visions and stories?
The design process for me feels almost magical. It all begins with dialogue — truly listening to my clients and understanding their ideas, emotions, and the story they want to tell through their jewelry. I take the time to immerse myself in their vision because every detail, whether it’s the symbolism, the gemstones, or the shape of the design, carries a special meaning.
Once I’ve grasped their vision, I start developing the concept, blending their personal desires with my artistic style and expertise. Using sketches and 3D models, I bring their ideas to life, ensuring they can visualize the piece as it takes shape. This process is interactive, and I’m always open to revisions to ensure the piece fully meets their expectations.

Can you share a memorable story behind one of your designs and how it connected with the client on a personal level?
One memorable story that comes to mind is about a client from Calgary, who asked me to design her engagement and wedding ring as a single piece. She wasn’t quite sure how to explain what she wanted, but she shared her story and showed me a few pictures of styles she liked.
Drawing inspiration from her story and preferences, I created a design that felt like the perfect blend of her ideas and my vision. When we met in person to review it, her reaction was unforgettable. She told me it was exactly what she had envisioned but hadn’t been able to articulate.
Once her excitement settled, we worked together to finalize the details. The design came to life with 1 carat of diamonds, 8 sapphires, and 10 grams of platinum, and just two weeks later, the ring was ready.
When I presented the finished piece to the owner, her reaction was pure joy. Her eyes sparkled with tears, and her gratitude was overwhelming. Moments like these are truly special because I can feel the energy of my clients’ happiness. It’s as though the love and care I pour into creating the jewelry return to me tenfold when they see the final result.

Your brand focuses on ethically sourced materials and timeless craftsmanship. How do these principles influence your designs and resonate with your clients?
I prioritize using responsibly sourced gemstones and metals in all my designs. I firmly believe that if each of us makes even small efforts to protect the environment, our collective chances of building a sustainable future will significantly improve. I’m hopeful that this mindset will become widespread sooner rather than later.
Additionally, I offer jewelry featuring high-quality lab-grown diamonds, which are an increasingly popular choice. These diamonds provide a modern, eco-conscious solution and are a more affordable option for those who value sustainability. Lab-grown diamonds are created in controlled environments, eliminating the environmental damage and social challenges associated with mining, all while maintaining the same natural beauty as mined diamonds.
To ensure my clients receive only the best, I collaborate with highly skilled jewelers and trusted suppliers. We use GIA or IGI-certified diamonds, allowing clients to verify the quality and specifications of their stones. Many of them appreciate knowing that the jewelry they wear has been created responsibly, with respect for both people and the environment. Offering lab-grown diamonds and ethically sourced materials provides them with the opportunity to make choices that align with their personal values while still receiving stunning, high-quality pieces.
What upcoming collections or future plans are you most excited to share with your audience, and what can they expect from Anna Popovych Jewelry in the coming year?
I’m currently working on two exciting collections. The first is a men’s collection featuring rings that can be paired with other accessories like earrings, pendants, cufflinks, or bracelets. The second is a bridal collection, where couples can order a complete wedding set or choose individual pieces, such as an engagement ring, earrings, necklaces, or pendants, all designed in a cohesive style.
A wedding is such an important milestone, and I’m honored to contribute to these special moments. My aim is to create jewelry that reflects the uniqueness of each couple’s big day, preserves cherished memories, and combines timeless design with a modern touch.
Both collections will be available on a made-to-order basis, ensuring each piece is crafted with care and tailored to the client’s vision. Looking ahead, one of my goals for next year is to find an investor, bring these collections to life, and present them at jewelry shows here in Canada. I’m excited about the opportunities this will bring and look forward to connecting with more people through my work.
