Lib Brand Celebrates the Official Opening of Two New Rental Complexes in Pointe-Claire and Mont-Saint-Hilaire

Two residential communities for active individuals aged 55 and over, totaling 337 apartments

EMD-Batimo and its partner, the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ, are inaugurating two new rental residential complexes under the Lib brand in Pointe-Claire and Mont-Saint-Hilaire. Welcoming residents for the past few months, the two projects represent a total investment of $146 million and further enhance the rental housing options available to individuals aged 55 and over in Quebec.

Inaugurated in September, the Lib Hymus, located at 325 Hymus Boulevard in Pointe-Claire, in Montreal’s West Island, features 205 rental condos spread over 10 floors. The complex offers a living environment that takes advantage of its proximity to shops and services, while providing green spaces and amenities that encourage an active and social lifestyle.

At the foot of Mont Saint-Hilaire, the Lib Mont-Saint-Hilaire, located at 505 Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier Boulevard, features 132 rental condos spread over four floors. The proximity to the mountain, shops, and services allows residents to enjoy an environment that is both peaceful and accessible.

Both complexes offer apartments ranging from one-bedroom to three-bedroom. The all-inclusive rent package includes five major appliances, electricity, hot water, air conditioning, cable TV, and high-speed Internet. Modern and bright, the apartments stand out for their thoughtful layouts and quality finishes.

Living environments designed for an active retirement

Both complexes are primarily intended for people aged 55 and over who wish to enjoy an active, social, and independent lifestyle, without the hassles of maintaining a house. Lib encourages connection and well-being through its many versatile and inviting common areas, including a spacious lounge, fitness room, billiards area, culinary space for entertaining family and friends, interior courtyard, terrace with barbecues, and much more. A dedicated Activities Coordinator is also on site to organize a wide range of activities and encourage resident engagement.

“The opening of these two complexes marks an important milestone for EMD-Batimo and the Lib banner. We are particularly proud to see these projects now occupied and to witness how the spaces we envisioned are meeting the aspirations of individuals aged 55+ who are seeking comfort, freedom, and quality of life. Each Lib is designed to create a true living environment where residents can stay active, enjoy their surroundings, and build meaningful connections with their community,” said Francis Charron, President, EMD-Batimo Group.

“As partners in the very first Lib project, we are proud to continue our collaboration with EMD-Batimo and contribute to the growth of this brand designed for active retirees and semi-retirees. With 337 new apartments, these two projects will expand the housing supply while generating positive economic benefits for Quebec,” said Martin Raymond, President and CEO, Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.

An eco-responsible approach integrated from the design phase

From the earliest stages of development, both projects incorporated a range of measures designed to minimize their environmental footprint. The buildings were strategically oriented to maximize natural light, while the landscaped grounds and interior courtyards help mitigate heat island effects.

The locations were also carefully selected for their proximity to shops and services, encouraging walkability and reducing reliance on automobiles. In addition, electric vehicle charging stations are available on site. These features contribute to comfortable and sustainable residential environments that reflect residents’ lifestyles and evolving needs.

A rapidly expanding brand

The opening of Lib Hymus and Lib Mont-Saint-Hilaire is part of the continued expansion of the Lib banner across Quebec and Ontario. Lib already has a residential complex in Gatineau, while two additional projects are currently under construction in Vaudreuil-Dorion and Kanata, both scheduled to open in 2027.
