It all started in December 2018. The co-founders of Tire Shack Brewing Co. in Moncton, New Brunswick, are Alan Norman and Jerrica Kennedy (husband and wife duo). They completely refurbished an abandoned auto garage to make it into a craft brewery, reviving the area in the process. In the three years since they opened, they have witnessed tremendous growth. Their beer has won numerous top brewing honours in the US and Canada and has received recognition on a national and international level. A 5600-square-foot extension that will open in late June 2023 is currently being finished. They will increase their brewing capacity as a result of the extension, which also includes an event space and a rooftop patio with a glass atrium. Tire Shack Brewing defeated more than 1200 craft brewers nationwide to receive the title of “Canadian Brewery of the Year” in 2022 from Brewers Journal magazine (which is regarded as the Oscars of brewing honours).
Tire Shack aims to offer guests an experience, not a beer. From the moment you enter the space their goal is to make you feel like you are in a unique place that feels completely different from anywhere else you are likely to experience in the city. Superior guest focus is of the utmost importance to Tire Shack, and their amazing staff do such an incredible job of not just ensuring you are getting outstanding service, but that you also feel welcome and at home. They realize that everyone’s knowledge of beer is different, so they take the time to explain their beer offerings in great detail to make guests feel comfortable, informed and educated on the always rotating selection of beers the brewery has available. Tire Shack gets excited about the fact that they can take a 5000 year old product(beer) and create and package it a new and exciting way that changes what you thought your relationship with the product was.
Their brewhouse and beer manufacturing equipment is out in the open so guests can feel like they are in a functioning industrial space, and supportive staff are always there to explain the unique pieces of equipment and also to walk guests through the process of making beer. Their guests also get to see the brewers actually making the beer that they see in front of them in their glass which adds to an incredibly unique experience.
