Equality is not just a core value at Salesforce. It is a fundamental part of our culture. It underscores our belief that businesses can be powerful platforms for social change and that it is our responsibility to further equality for all.
But, without intentional systems in place designed to drive equity, equality cannot be realized. You can’t have one without the other. Solving the multifaceted challenges faced by women and all underrepresented minority groups requires meaningful action.
As I reflect on the theme of this year’s IWD, Embracing Equity, it is a potent reminder that the conversation is no longer about convincing people that this needs to be a boardroom imperative. It’s about setting transparent goals, creating shared accountability, and putting systems in place that target the specific challenges employees face today.
We need to continue to build workplaces that reflect the beautiful diversity across Canada, where everyone feels seen, heard, valued, and empowered to succeed. There is more work to be done, and only together can we build a more equal and equitable country for all.
Margaret Stuart
Country Manager, Salesforce Canada
As Country Manager for Salesforce Canada, Margaret Stuart is responsible for leading the growth strategy and business operations to deliver customer success and digital transformations. She has more than 20 years of experience in sales, go-to-market and product management with technology companies.
Margaret believes that business is truly a platform for change, and is herself a transformational leader. Her passion for mentoring young professionals, entrepreneurs and new Canadians has driven her to champion a first-of-its-kind program, Salesforce For All: designed to help newcomers in Canada learn valuable skills to help them find meaningful work. It started in Toronto with 20 students; 10 of which found jobs within the first two months of completing the program. Since then, it has attracted dozens of volunteers and expanded into a national, micro-certification program.
Under her leadership, the team at Salesforce Canada has rallied around a shared mantra of Courage, Collaboration, and Hustle. She believes everyone has a role to play on the path to Equality and actively encourages employees to ask, listen, show up, and speak up as allies to one another.
