This year’s International Women’s Day theme, Give to Gain, inspires us to transform our commitment into meaningful action reinforcing that investing in women is not just the right thing to do, it’s the key to unlocking new possibilities and a brighter future for all.
Our latest HP Work Relationship Index revealed that only 15% of Canadian knowledge workers report having a healthy relationship with work. Yet, 85% of the factors that shape our experience at work are within an organization’s control. Culture, leadership, resources, and opportunity are key factors that drive change and influence outcomes.
To truly close the fulfillment gap, we must be intentional about how we support women across every stage of their careers – through mentorship, sponsorship, skill development and visible pathways to leadership. Representation matters, but advancement matters more and I encourage leaders to advocate for a woman’s next opportunity. When we give access, visibility, and support, we all gain.
At HP Canada, we believe performance and people go hand in hand. When women are empowered with the right tools, trusted with meaningful responsibility and supported by leaders who listen, innovation accelerates and teams perform at their best. When women rise, workplaces strengthen. And when workplaces strengthen, businesses grow.
