Adaptable Funding Options are Available:
The AgriScience Program offers three funding options for applicants to select from. Non-repayable contribution funding, also referred to as Vote 10, provides support for research activities carried out by the industry. Another important aspect is the collaborative research and development support, also known as Vote 1, which allows Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) scientists to carry out research on behalf of interested parties. Finally, applicants have the option to choose between Vote 10 and Vote 1 funding options. This allows them to take advantage of both collaborative research and industry-led initiatives. The program provides flexibility to accommodate the distinct needs and requirements of various projects.
Partnerships, Funding, and Cost-Sharing are Important Factors to Consider:
AgriScience Program recipients must sign contribution or Collaborative Research and Development Agreements with AAFC. AAFC researchers provide non-repayable contributions or collaboration. The Projects Component’s maximum investment is $10 million, with a $5 million project limit. AAFC covers up to 50% of qualified expenditures, while applicants pay the rest. Non-profits that target greenhouse gas reduction and carbon sequestration may receive a higher cost-sharing ratio. AAFC may cover 70% of qualified expenditures.
