Let’s find out more about Francine Bahati and her Queenfidence cosmetics range.

About Francine Bahati

Belonging to a small town in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Francine was forced to leave her home country due to the ugly civil war. In December 2012, Francine migrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Before that, she lived as a refugee in Uganda for 10 years. Her life in Uganda wasn’t an easy one. She was discriminated against and looked down upon. And as she belonged to a poor family, she was called all sorts of names. But none of these stopped her from dreaming big. She grew up in a household where her mother was very passionate about fashion and beauty. And this inspired Francine to grow a career in the field of fashion and beauty and her love for music. During her childhood in Uganda, her mother couldn’t afford to buy makeup for her and her sister. They would use palm oil as lipstick and chalk as powder. Her favorite was, however, lipsticks.

Francine launched Queenfidence with five vibrant matter liquid lipsticks. For her, a good lipstick is the perfect way of self-expression which displays confidence and boldness in women. And since she struggled for years to feel confident in her own skin, she thought her business would make it easier for other women (especially Black women) to feel brave and confident in the way they are. With Queenfidence, she aspires to make people connect with the name of the brand and feel beautiful inside out.
