Brave Education Inc was founded in a local martial arts studio. With a karate dojo commonly used as an outlet to help kids gain confidence, many parents approached the studio asking for support on how to deal with conflict and bullying at school.
Presently Brave Education works in most major school boards across Ontario, empowering tens of thousands of children, teachers, camp counsellors, and school bus drivers annually across Canada, on their social and emotional skills.
Participants are invited into conversations by Brave’s connection-led and scenario-based educational approach, which inspires them to consider how they may use these abilities in their everyday lives.
It has numerous programs, which include:
- School – Through Brave’s class by class approach, students learn to identify healthy and unhealthy relationships and how to set boundaries with their peers through their body language and tone of voice. Students are engaged in learning through discussion, breakouts, role playing, and case study analysis.
- Parents – Parents learn to identify conflict and bullying situations, and how to coach their kids in setting boundaries in their relationships. Videos and parent notes are included in online lessons to assist you in having critical conversations with your kids.
- Camps – Camp Leaders learn how to build relationships, the difference between bullying and conflict, and how to have behavior-based conversations with their campers. Brave’s camper programs are for ages 4 – 10 and ages 11 – 15. Sessions range from 45 – 60 minutes. Campers get empowered by learning how to stand up for themselves and others.
- Transportation – School bus drivers learn skills to interact with their riders, ranging from how to build connection, the difference between conflict and bullying, and how to have healthy behavior-based interactions.
