You have an accomplished background in both personal development and business leadership. What initially inspired you to embark on your journey in the wellness industry, and how have your experiences shaped the mission and vision behind Splendid Inspiration?

My personal growth journey began in my teens after a serious head-on collision left me hospitalized for months, bedridden and in traction. During recovery, I had a lot of time to reflect and realized I wasn’t happy with the direction of my life. I knew I needed to change to create a more fulfilling future.

I started investing in myself through personal development. I read countless books and attended workshops and seminars. Back then, there was no Google or social media, so I had to seek out these resources the hard way. But the more I learned, the more I grew. My mindset shifted, my awareness deepened, and I began to see real change in my life.

Through the years, I’ve experienced joy, peace, and success. This transformation inspired me to help others do the same. For over 40 years, it’s been my mission to share this powerful information through my wellness company, Splendid Inspiration.

Personal growth isn’t a one-time event—it’s a lifelong journey. And I’m passionate about guiding others to live with purpose, clarity, and confidence.

Your newest book, “Holistic Self Care for Women,” has received high praise globally, including the Moms Choice Award. How do you believe holistic self-care and mental resilience contribute to success, particularly for women entrepreneurs and small business owners?

Holistic self-care and mental resilience are foundational to long-term success, particularly for women entrepreneurs who often juggle multiple roles. When we prioritize our well-being—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—we sharpen our decision-making, creativity, and leadership. Mental resilience helps us navigate the inevitable challenges of entrepreneurship without burning out. My book emphasizes that success isn’t just about hustle; it’s about harmony. When women embrace holistic practices like mindfulness, rest, and nourishment, they build a sustainable foundation for both their personal and professional growth.

Building a positive mindset is central to your coaching and online courses. Can you share practical strategies or daily habits that readers can use to develop and maintain a growth mindset, especially during challenging times?

Building a positive mindset begins with awareness. One of the most effective strategies I teach is daily reflection. At the end of each day, take five minutes to ask: What challenged me today? What did I learn from it? How did I grow? This simple practice shifts your focus from perceived failure to opportunity. Another key habit is reframing negative thoughts. When something goes wrong, instead of thinking, “I’m not good at this,” reframe it to “I’m not good at this yet.”

That small shift nurtures resilience and keeps you open to learning. Also, surround yourself with positive input—read books, follow uplifting content, and spend time with growth-oriented people. During tough times, it’s even more critical to anchor your mindset in routines like gratitude journaling, breathwork, or movement. These practices regulate your nervous system and keep you mentally agile. Growth mindset isn’t about being positive all the time—it’s about staying open, curious, and willing to adapt. With consistent effort, even small daily habits can create profound shifts.

You’ve witnessed both personal and professional achievements, from sales accolades to raising empowered young adults. Could you share a recent accomplishment—either personal or business-related—that embodies your philosophy of goal achievement and perseverance?

For the past 40 years I have been dedicated to study and continuous learning of how to set and achieve my goals.  I can honestly say that whatever goal or ‘idea’ I have in my mind that I visualize with constant repetition and emotion has manifested into physical form.

Two years ago my family decided to move out west to be closer to our daughter so I began building the picture of the perfect lot to build on that had magnificent mountain and river views.  We just purchased a property we plan to build on and it is absolutely incredible.

Just the idea I built in my mind only a mere few years ago that I would someday become an author and write wellness books inspiring others was a pipe dream… Now I have two wellness books that are receiving 5 star reviews, being distributed worldwide.  A goal I never thought possible.

Finally, what key advice or encouragement would you like to offer to Canadian small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs who are aiming to unlock their full potential in today’s ever-changing world?

To Canadian small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs: the road ahead may be uncertain, but your potential is limitless. In today’s ever-changing world, adaptability is your superpower. Embrace change as an invitation to innovate, not a threat to fear. Start with a clear vision, stay anchored in your purpose, and take consistent, small steps forward—even when progress feels slow. Surround yourself with mentors, community, and uplifting voices who fuel your growth. Prioritize your mindset—resilience, optimism, and belief in your mission will carry you through tough times.

Remember, every great business once started as an idea backed by courage. Don’t wait for perfect conditions—start where you are, with what you have. Your story, your voice, and your unique way of serving others is what sets you apart. Canada needs your creativity, your passion, and your leadership. Keep learning, stay agile, and most importantly, believe that you are capable of far more than you think. The world is ready—are you?
