OCC looks forward to championing economic growth with the 43rd provincial government

(Toronto – June 3, 2022) – Today, Rocco Rossi, President, and CEO of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), released the following statement following the provincial election:

“On behalf of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and our members, I would like to congratulate Premier Doug Ford and his caucus on their election win. I would also like to congratulate Ontario’s New Democratic Party for once again forming official opposition. As the indispensable partner of business, we look forward to working with the government and all parties on policy solutions to advance economic growth in the province.

“Competing ideas are at the heart of democracy, and we would like to commend all party leaders and candidates who put their names forward to serve their communities during this provincial election. I would like to extend my gratitude to resigning leaders Andrea Horwath and Steven Del Duca for their leadership and service to Ontarians.

“Ontario businesses have faced unprecedented years characterized by a prolonged pandemic, record-high inflation, supply chain disruptions, labour shortages, and geopolitical turmoil. The time is now to focus on pro-growth measures to support economic recovery.”
