Something about Oyéta Kokoroko

Oyéta Kokoroko is the Founder and CEO of OKOKO Cosmétiques & House Of Brands. She is a Canadian-based Black woman entrepreneur and is also a mentor and author of natural skincare. Today, OKOKO is a high-performance, award-winning natural skincare brand based in Vancouver. Kokoroko founded her first-ever company, OKOKO, in 2016, and within a few years, the company made huge progress. With her grit, determination, and perseverance, she built this brand to become one of the best-sellers in the beauty industry in Canada. Not only in Canada, but now, she has partnered with several other companies to launch OKOKO in different nations. OKOKO and Oyéta’s entrepreneurial magnificence has already been featured in Elle, Forbes, Huffington Post, Vancouver Magazine, Vancouver Sun, and so on.

Oyéta Kokoroko was born in Togo, which is a small country located in the Western part of Africa. However, she grew up in Montreal, Quebec. Kokoroko was raised by her grandparents in Togo and when she was 5, she traveled to Canada all by herself to reunite with her parents and her brother. She was always a curious kid and a total nerd. Also, when she was a teenager, she had problematic skin. This happened due to poor nutrition and diet. But when she was a young adult, she started suffering from joint pain. And by the time she was 19, she thought of seeking medical help. But as she was not very fond of taking western medicines from a young age, she started her research on alternatives. Eventually, she got help from naturopathic medicine and learned how her diet affected her wellbeing.

She adjusted her diet and realized how immediately her joint pain subsided. She also experienced an improved skin texture with no more acne or blemishes. She started researching more, reading food labels, skin-related ingredients, and got more serious about what she should put in her body and skin. She became passionate about skincare and also took courses on skincare formulation in Montreal and eventually founded Formula Botanica.
