TechAlliance of Southwestern Ontario, an innovation hub headquartered in London, Ontario, celebrates the completion of the inaugural cohort of Rural GROW Accelerator, including Beekist Growers, Capella Meadows, Goldie Innovative Technologies, Proof Line Farm, Revelree, and Techwillow.
“Startups and small businesses are an essential element of thriving rural communities,” said Lisa Thompson, Ontario Minister of Rural Affairs. “An initiative like the Rural GROW Accelerator is an innovative way to drive growth in Ontario’s rural communities by supporting rural businesses and the entrepreneurs behind them. Congratulations to TechAlliance and the Cohort graduates,” Thompson added.
Funded in part by the Government of Ontario, Rural GROW Accelerator was designed by TechAlliance to remove barriers to economic productivity and prosperity by fostering a supportive ecosystem and sustainable growth, assisting innovative and technological ventures in Elgin, Huron, Lambton, Oxford, and Middlesex counties to scale and boost regional economic development.
Over 12 weeks, Rural GROW connected entrepreneurs with bespoke business advice from industry leaders and collaborators at no cost to the venture. Supporting them with natural obstacles faced by Canadian startups, such as IP strategy, marketing and sales challenges, structured operations and finance, the accelerator empowered founders and their teams to seize opportunities and navigate growth alongside fellow entrepreneurs.
“Celebrating the graduation of our inaugural Rural GROW Accelerator cohort demonstrates remarkable innovation thriving in rural communities,” says Christina Fox, CEO of TechAlliance. “Committed to fostering a vibrant technology ecosystem for all, TechAlliance is proud to champion exceptional ventures driving economic vitality across Southwestern Ontario and anticipate an equally strong applicant pool for the next cohort of Rural GROW.”
