Skilled carpenters Adrian and Martinus Pool, who were irritated by construction material waste, founded the enterprise in 2012. Motivated by a passion for skating and an ambition to upcycle discarded skateboards into one-of-a-kind decorative items, they established their business in 2012 to tackle this problem.
Adrian and Martinus started making unique furniture out of old skateboards and hardwood flooring in their parents’ garage. As a matter of fact, Adrian Martinus Design runs two separate organizations – the main brand, Adrian Martinus, emphasizes handmade, custom-built furniture, art, and housewares. The second brand is Pool Product Design, a joint venture with Danish designer and artist Anne Tranholm. It sells reasonably priced small-batch home goods, décor, and accessories.
While pushing the boundaries of conventional carpentry and respecting its skateboarding heritage, Adrian Martinus Design’s goal is to provide aesthetically arresting and premium items.
