Healthy, happy employees are critical to the success of any business—and this is especially true for small and mid-size enterprises. While entrepreneurs understand the importance of supporting their employees’ physical and mental health, limited resources and budget constraints may prevent some business owners from providing employee wellness programs.
At March of Dimes Canada Employment Services, we believe that every business, regardless of size, should have access to affordable and accessible employee wellness programs. That’s why we’re excited to introduce “Wellness Without Limits” [https://bit.ly/3FrkJHq], a comprehensive webinar series designed to improve the overall health and well-being of your employees.
The series comprises of three live, interactive webinars that are specifically tailored to address the unique challenges faced by today’s workforce. Our evidence-based webinars draw on the latest research, as well as best practices in health and wellness.
“These webinars offer practical strategies that empower people to improve their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness. By taking an active approach to their diet, exercise, creativity and social activities, any person can improve their overall health, happiness, and productivity,” says Dr. Carrie Heilbron, Chief Psychologist, Rehabilitation and Clinical Services, for Employment Services at March of Dimes Canada, and one of the facilitators.
Good employers offer support and accommodations when an injury or health condition impacts an employee’s ability to do their job. Yet, it’s just as important to take a proactive approach toward promoting good physical and mental health.
Mary-Rose Hackbart, Program Manager of the Functional Rehabilitation Services team in Employment Services at March of Dimes Canada, says that enhancing your well-being isn’t challenging when you have the right information. “For example, following ergonomic principles when you configure your workstation can prevent aches, pains and injuries, and reduce eye strain,” says Hackbart.
Investing in an employee’s well-being can not only prevent injuries and illness, but increase productivity, reduce absenteeism, and boost morale. Most notably: it helps increase their knowledge and awareness, empowering them to take consistent, practical steps to improve their wellness from day-to-day, both at work and at home.
