Through my extensive travels across North America and conversations with business leaders, a recurring question often arises: “What can AI do for my business?” This question marks a significant shift from the traditional query, “Can you build a technology solution for this problem I have?” It reflects both curiosity and a gap in understanding the transformative potential of AI in today’s business landscape.
For many, generative AI is primarily viewed as an intelligent chatbot, like ChatGPT, designed to handle tasks such as generating creatives or functioning as an AI-powered customer service assistant. While these applications are valuable, this narrow perspective limits the imagination of what generative AI can truly achieve. At Naico, we’ve developed a framework that helps businesses connect specific generative AI capabilities to use cases tailored to their unique operations, enabling them to unlock its full potential.
Let’s examine how generative AI can deliver impactful results through two real-world scenarios.
Take the example of a manufacturer of household chemical products, such as detergents. By incorporating generative AI into its innovation management platform, the company significantly accelerates its product development process. The AI identifies sustainable and skin-friendly raw materials, recommends cost-efficient manufacturing processes, and simulates product characteristics like shelf life. This integration not only reduces research costs but also allows the company to maintain a competitive edge by bringing innovative, high-quality products to market faster.
Another compelling use case is an event management company that has embraced AI to enhance its operational efficiency. The AI coordinates staff activities, ensuring smooth task allocation and communication. It tracks progress, sets reminders, and raises alerts to senior management when risks of delays or disruptions are detected. Additionally, it interacts with customers, providing real-time updates and addressing inquiries. This level of intelligent automation enables the company to deliver seamless, memorable events while reducing complexity and improving overall performance. What may seem futuristic is entirely possible with the advanced technology available today.
Generative AI is far more than a chatbot. It is a versatile and powerful tool that can adapt to your business needs, either enhancing existing processes or forming the foundation for entirely new ways of working. Its true value lies in reshaping how businesses operate, innovate, and compete in a dynamic marketplace.
In future issues of this magazine, we will delve deeper into generative AI’s capabilities. Through detailed case studies, we’ll explore practical applications in industries such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing, fintech, and agriculture. We will also discuss the limitations of generative AI to ensure businesses have a realistic understanding of its scope and potential.
