Wixy Soap, headquartered in Sherwood Park, Alberta, is a 100% Canadian-owned company that specializes in handcrafted soaps, bath and cosmetic products, soapmaking equipment, DIY kits, and instructional seminars. What began as a founder’s desire to make natural soap has grown into a business that blends handmade craftsmanship, creativity, education, and personal care. At the heart of Wixy Soap is a simple concept: ordinary products may be useful while also bringing creativity and delight into daily activities.

From a Homemade Soap Experiment to a Canadian Business

Di, an Alberta entrepreneur, founded Wixy Soap after attempting to create a natural dog shampoo for a pet named Foxy. After learning that cold-process soap production was a vital foundation for developing shampoo and liquid soap, I experimented with making my own. The exploration rapidly turned into a passion. After making more homemade soap than she could give away, Di founded Wixy Soap and began selling handcrafted items.

The company’s name came from two cats, Winnie and Foxy. The company started with trade shows, markets, and pop-up events before expanding into education, supplies, DIY kits, and a broader range of bath and body goods.

Handmade Products With Attention to Ingredients

Handmade soap remains a significant component of Wixy Soap’s product line. According to the firm, it makes its soaps in Canada from oil and butter combinations that may include shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, rice bran oil, grapeseed oil, neem oil, hemp oil, sunflower oil, and castor oil. Essential oils are also used in various compositions and smells.

Depending on the recipe, they may use milk, juices, or purees instead of distilled water. The company regularly introduces seasonal and rotating soap varieties while also offering recurring product selections. This hands-on approach makes Wixy Soap stand out in a market increasingly interested in small-batch, independently made personal-care products.

More Than Handmade Soap

Wixy Soap has grown far beyond completed soap bars. Its product and service offerings include bath bombs, lotions, natural deodorants, sulphate-free hair products, face masks, soap-making materials, beauty-product ingredients, and other bath and body items.

The company also provides DIY kits for cold-process soap, melt-and-pour soap, liquid soap, bath bombs, lotions, shampoo bars, natural deodorants, shower steamers, and lip balms. Wixy Soap’s business concept blends retail with education and hands-on creation by serving both clients who want finished products and those interested in making their own bath and body products.

Sharing the Craft Through Education

Education has become a significant aspect of the Wixy Soap story. When customers expressed an interest in learning how to make soap themselves, the founder offered a cold-process soap-making class. The success of the first class led to an expanded educational program.

Wixy Soap currently offers workshops in hot-process soap, melt-and-pour soap, advanced swirling techniques, liquid soap, lotion making, bath bombs, shampoo and conditioner bars, bath salts, shower steamers, and other bath and body product categories. This instructional component elevates the organization from a mere product merchant to a resource for enthusiasts, aspiring producers, and anyone interested in mastering the craft of personal-care goods.

Building a Business Around Creativity and Self-Care

Wixy Soap exemplifies how a personal passion can become a diverse small business. The company has grown from selling homemade soap at local markets to providing finished products, ingredients, supplies, DIY kits, courses, and tools to other manufacturers. Its story shows how a small Canadian company can adjust its strategy in response to client demand and changing market conditions. At the consumer level, Wixy Soap adds a more personal touch to everyday activities.

Handmade soaps, bath treatments, and other personal-care items can turn routine tasks into opportunities for relaxation, creativity, and self-care. Wixy Soap’s combination of craftsmanship, education, and business is key to the brand. Wixy Soap offers handmade products, supplies, DIY kits, and classes. Explore: https://www.wixysoap.com/
